What will a typical day look like for my dog during their staycation at The Cwtch Animal Homestay?A typical day at our Luxury Dog Hotel will start from 7:30am. Guests will have full use of our secure outdoor areas for their morning toilet business, and to stretch their legs after a peaceful night’s sleep in their private suites. Guests will then return to their rooms for breakfast before the daily fun begins! Group walks and free play will begin from 9:30am where guests will enjoy the company of our team and other doggy guests in our secure indoor & outdoor areas. Small groups will be taken out for their adventurous morning walks around our 29 acres of luscious fields and woodland areas. From 9:30am until midday, all our guests will enjoy supervised free play around our homely kitchen/lounge area and our secure indoor and outdoor play areas, engaging in fun play activities and lots of interaction from members of our team. Guests will be supervised at all times during free play hours. Lunch will be served at 12:30 (for those that have 3 meals a day). All guests will then have some relaxing downtime, either in their private rooms or in our doggy lounge in front of the TV and cosy log burner. Whilst your pup is catching some z’s and chilling out, we’ll be sending out those all-important ‘pupdates’ so you can check in on what they’ve been getting up to on their staycation. After some relaxing, the fun starts again. Guests will enjoy supervised free play and enrichment activities for the rest of the afternoon. Fun ‘find it’ games, stimulating puzzles, fetch, tug and chase will stimulate your pups both mentally & physically, so they are happy and fulfilled throughout their stay with us. After dinner hour guests can enjoy winding down in our doggy lounge with lots of fuss and cuddles from staff until it’s time for bed. Please note, we can tailor your dog’s stay to suit their personal needs.

All bookings that are made require a deposit of 50% prior to confirmation of your dog’s stay with us. All deposits are non-refundable and non-transferrable. All payments should be made using our online booking system. We do not accept cash payments. The remaining balance must be paid at least four weeks prior to your dog’s staycation with us. You will receive an automated email notification when the balance is due. After your booking has been confirmed and your deposit has been paid, you are able to cancel at any stage up to 28 days prior to the check in date of your booking. The 28 days prior does not include the day of check in. If you cancel within the 28 day period, you will still be charged for the remaining balance. Introduction Day - If you have booked an Introduction Day with us and need to cancel or reschedule your booking, this can be requested via your customer booking portal page. To qualify for a full refund and/or rescheduling your Introduction Day, changes must be requested at least 48 hours in advance. -
Do you accept entire males and females in season?Due to the social set up of our Luxury Dog Hotel we are not able to accept entire males over the age of 6 months old. This is due to their arousal levels around other dogs during play. It is also very common for castrated males to have less tolerance towards entire males due to their lack of testosterone, this can lead to castrated males reacting aggressively to entire males. We are not able to accept females who are in season. We understand that it is sometimes difficult to predict when their season is due but unfortunately, we cannot accept a female in our care if she arrives to our hotel and is in season, please be mindful of this when booking your dog’s stay.
-
What vaccinations does my dog require to stay with you?All dogs who stay with us at The Cwtch Animal Homestay will need to be fully vaccinated against the following: distemper, hepatitis, parvovirus, leptospirosis and kennel cough. We require a copy of the up-to-date vaccination certificate at least 2 weeks prior to your dog’s stay with us, this can be updated on your own individual boarding card that you can access on our portal. All dogs must be up to date with their flea and worming treatment prior to their stay. Unfortunately, failure to provide a copy of your dog’s up-to-date vaccination certificate will result in them not being able to stay with us.

What does an “Introduction Day” entail? Our Introduction Day will be an opportunity for your dog to come and spend the day with us prior to their staycation. Throughout the day, our team will carefully monitor your dog within our Hotel set up and assess how they engage with other dogs and staff. During the day, The Cwtch team will assess your dog’s social skills, as well as their behaviour displayed during mealtimes, free play sessions, group walks and down time periods. This is very important prior to booking any stays with us as it allows us to be confident that your dog will flourish in the environment of our Luxury Dog Hotel. This way, we can ensure they will have the best staycation with us! At the end of the Introduction Day, we will provide you with feedback on whether we believe our Luxury Dog Hotel is well suited to your dog. If we are confident that our Luxury Dog Hotel is the right fit for your dog, then you will be able to book future staycations with us. If we feel that our hotel's environment is not the right fit for your dog then we may either suggest an additional introduction day/night to assess further, or unfortunately, we may conclude that our Dog hotel would not be the right staycation option for your dog. Our Introduction Days are approximately 5 hours long from your drop off time. We ask that you provide any food and bedding needed for your dog throughout their time with us that day.
-
Do I need to bring anything along for my dog’s staycation? Please bring along your dog’s food for their stay with us so they can continue their usual diet. Although we are more than happy to provide bedding as well as a wide selection of beds, we do encourage you to bring your dog’s own bed and bedding from home. This is familiar to them and will help them settle quicker during their stay with us. If your dog usually sleeps in a crate at night-time, then please bring this with you and we will replicate their sleeping set up for maximum comfort. Please ensure that any bedding and blankets are washed before your dog’s stay with us. Please do not bring toys from home. We will have plenty of toys for your dog to enjoy during their stay with us. We will also provide our own treats and chews.
-
Are dogs from the same household allowed to share a room?Dogs from the same household will be given the option to share a room. Our rooms have been designed in line with 5-star standard legislation for both Wales and England. This ensures that there is plenty of space for dogs from the same household to share if preferred.
-
What happens if my dog does not settle during their staycation? We will do everything we possibly can to settle your dog and make them feel at home with us. Dogs who take a little longer to settle will get plenty of reassurance and attention from our team. However, if we believe that your dog’s mental and/or physical state is being affected during their stay with us, we will act in their best interest and contact their emergency contact which may result in their staycation being cut short.
-
Can I come and look around your facilities before booking a staycation? We will host Hotel tours throughout the year for those that are interested to come and look around our Dog Hotel. We will also have a online tour of our Hotel available on our social media platforms and website for those that can’t make our Hotel tours and want to look around. As we’ll be caring for our guests throughout the day, we cannot accommodate walk in’s.
-
Will your secure parks still be open?Yes - Absolutely! Both our Dog Adventure Park and Dog Sensory Park will still be open and running as usual when our Luxury Dog Hotel opens. Our Dog Hotel will have its own car park and secure outdoor areas so park users can still enjoy undisturbed, off lead play. You can continue to book our Secure Dog Parks via our online booking system as normal.
-
If my dog has had an introduction for your secure parks, do they still need an introduction to use your Luxury Dog Hotel?Yes, you would still need to book your dog in for an introduction day if you would like them to have a staycation with us. Our Luxury Dog Hotel will run separately to our Secure Dog Parks.
